{"id":326,"date":"2017-03-06T04:19:34","date_gmt":"2017-03-06T04:19:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taipansfutsal.com.au\/?page_id=326"},"modified":"2017-08-06T01:42:18","modified_gmt":"2017-08-06T01:42:18","slug":"club-history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/taipansfutsal.com.au\/index.php\/about-us\/club-history\/","title":{"rendered":"Club History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South Coast Taipans is the Illawarra and South Coast\u2019s representative Futsal club and currently plays in the NSW Futsal Premier League Competition which is amongst the strongest combined, junior\/senior, club competitions in Australia.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\">The club was founded in 2007 by a small group of friends and family that have been associated with representative Futsal for many years.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\">The club was registered for two main reasons being to provide a local platform to showcase the Futsal talent in the Illawarra and to provide a pathway for players to compete consistently at the highest possible level.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Today The South Coast Taipans is a volunteer led, community based organisation continuing to provide our local youth with the support and facilities to learn, play and enjoy Futsal.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\">The club was named after the famous one of the local theme park attraction &#8211; &#8220;The Taipan&#8221;. There is also some synergy with the inland Taipan which is a snake commonly found along the East Coast of Australia. The snake is extremely quick, elusive and highly venomous; things the club wanted to figuratively be known for. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\">In 2017 The Taipans boast players from Under 9&#8217;s to Open Men&#8217;s\/Women&#8217;s in both male and female teams.
